Breaking Barriers in Mental Health is a United Way of Horry County program is a response to our Community Needs Assessment indicated the growing number of individuals who could not afford mental health resources. Ensuring individuals have access to mental healthcare can improve lives and communities.
Thanks to a grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 (CDBG-CV), UWHC is working with Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center to provide free, consistent, on-site, out-patient, mental health, and substance use disorder counseling services to the homeless, uninsured, underinsured, low to moderate-income, and rural population of Horry County.

ASSISTANCE QUALIFICATION
Horry County residents may qualify to have mental health session costs covered if family size and income fit the following requirements (families larger than 8 need to call 843-448-4820 for more information).
