Katie West, Ed. S, LMFT
Katie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with individuals, couples, families and groups on a wide variety of mental health issues. She currently specializes in couples’ therapy, treating anxiety/depression, trauma, and substance abuse problems. Sometimes we just need support through our journey, a shoulder to lean on, a mirror to see ourselves more clearly, and a reminder that God has plans for us and is in control. Katie is originally a native of “the east coast.” With her father in the military, she moved around for most of her childhood. But with ten consecutive years spent in South Carolina, she feels at home here. Katie received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and her Education Specialist degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She spent time working with children at Epworth Children’s home, families and adolescents at Intervention Services in Richland Two School District, and a variety of issues and age ranges since entering private practice in 2012.She is married to her husband, Zack and lives happily in Murrells Inlet with her two dogs. Katie enjoys reading, cooking, Gamecocks football, DIY projects, the beach and anything outdoors in her free time.
