I began my solo practice in Shillington, PA in August of 2008. Before beginning my practice in Shillington, I worked in a variety of different fields. I worked as a Registered Nurse for twenty two years before attending Villanova University to study for a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Relations. After graduating from Villanova, and obtaining my license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor I worked in a variety of mental health positions. I have experience as a drug and alcohol counselor, an outpatient mental health counselor, an in-patient mental health counselor, and a community mental health counselor. I am licensed as an LPC in NC and SC. I am a National Board Certified Counselor.
I emphasize creating positive changes in behavior utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including holistic, cognitive, and systemic family interventions. I implement the most compatible therapeutic approach with the personality style, situation and needs of each person. I believe each client is a distinct individual who has the thirst for knowledge and understanding of the life challenges that often cause an imbalance in his or her psyche. It is my goal to help the client trust the wisdom within to lead the way to find and create this balance.
